Latest Lake District & Cumbria Business News: Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards
L'Enclume of Cartmel have been awarded Restaurant of the Year at the inaugural Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards which were hosted by Kendal College. Owner of L'Enclume Simon Rogan also received a special award from Hairy Biker Dave Myers for outstanding achievement in Cumbria's food and drink industry. Other awards included Chef of the Year which went to Justin Woods of the Castle Green Hotel and Best Cumberland Sausage which was awarded to Plumgarths Farm Shop.
Bridge Catering - Best Wedding Caterer
Bridge Catering have been crowned 'The Best Wedding Caterer (Independent)' for the North West Region in the 2012 Wedding Industry Awards. The Awards recognize and reward excellence in wedding suppliers both regionally and nationally. Bridge Catering of Greenodd now go forward to the National Finals which will be held in London. Lake District Dining Pub/ Restaurant of the Year Awards
The Plough Inn at Lupton have won Lancashire Life's Lake District Dining Pub / Restaurant of the Year Award and the Red Lion in Hawkshead have been named runner-up. The prestigious annual event is a staple of the north west’s culinary calendar and celebrates the finest hotels, dining pubs, restaurants, food producers, farmers' markets and chefs.
