Claytons Butchers is a high class independent traditional butcher’s shop located in the centre of Windermere who specialise in supplying quality English and British meats, including beef, pork, lamb and Cumbrian poultry.

Owned by Andrew and Sharon Wright since 1998, Claytons was first established in the Lake District town in 1907 with Andrew having worked at Claytons since 1984.

Claytons Butchers much sought after locally-sourced beef and lamb is supplied by Mill Brow Farm at Skelwith Bridge at the gateway to the very scenic Great Langdale valley (subject to availability). The produce is from farm to the Windermere shop in just 24 hours, with only 29 food miles.

The personal service of Claytons Butchers' is second to none and quality meat is prepared to their customers' requirements. Claytons also offer wholesale trade and a free local delivery service.

Claytons Butchers Products

As well as their hugely popular beef and lamb that's locally-sourced from Mill Brow Farm at Skelwith Bridge (subject to availability), Claytons homemade pies attracts people from miles around!

The Windermere butchers also make various succulent sausages, including traditional Cumberland, beef and a variety of pork sausages. Claytons also offer a range of their own cooked meats and also make a very tasty Black Pudding!

Local farm eggs and game are available to order from a local producer. During the summer months, Claytons Butchers have a variety of barbecue foods and also able to cater for special occasions. The Windermere butchers are registered with the EBLEX Quality Standard scheme which gives consumers the highest levels of assurance about the beef and lamb that they purchase.

Claytons beef and lamb carries the EBLEX Quality Standard Mark. This shows that it meets UK Animal Welfare standards and UK processing, packaging and hygiene standards which gives you confidence in the tenderness and succulence of your meat.

To ensure the personal touch and product availability, the Windermere butchers prefer that orders are placed in person or by phone on 015394 43071 from 7.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 1.30pm on Saturday.

Advance orders can be emailed to info@claytonsbutchers.co.uk and confirmation of your order will be emailed back to you.

Claytons renowned personal service will ensure that your individual requirements are catered for and each order is checked by staff before being packed and dispatched.
