Your Guide 2 Events in Grange-over-Sands

The Grange Christmas Extravaganza and Lights Switch-On takes place
on Saturday 3rd December 2011. It's a magical Christmas experience, a full day of family entertainment, events, huge discounts and massive giveaways. Santa will be in his Grotto with two of his very special reindeer and a treasure hunt will have over £1000 of prizes for one lucky winner.

There will be carol singers, crafts, galleries, cartoonists, face painting, giveaways and much more. A Pet and Dog Show will take place in the Parish Hall and a Rainbow Fair, organised by Grange Soroptomists, will take place in the Victoria Hall. You can try homemade delights and enjoy browsing the wonderful shops for all your Christmas gifts. Twenty-seven local businesses are participating and there'll be free parking on Berners Close Car Park. The whole day will be broadcast live on Bay Radio from 10am till 2pm.

Participating businesses include the Commodore Inn, Kacuzi Hair Studio, Home Delivery Carpets, Butterfingers Cafe, Wilson Robinson Carpets and Robin Grenville-Evans (cartoonist).

The Christmas Extravaganza will culminate at 6:30pm with the 65th annual Christmas Tree switch-on. Father Christmas will arrive to meet children and the Mayor of Grange, Tom Harvey, will switch on the town's Christmas lights, followed by carol singing. Grange's Christmas tree is a 100 feet high Wellingtonia and is said to be the tallest living Christmas tree in England.
