The Great Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt 2012
Your Guide 2 Events in Bowness and Windermere

peter rabbit easter egg huntThe Lake District is once again set to play host to the North of England’s biggest Easter egg hunt. Children and adults will be able to join the search for 110 ceramic Easter eggs across the Lake District from Thursday 5th April 2012 until all the eggs are found. The annual egg hunt, now in its 5th year, is believed to be the UK’s largest covering some 6,800 square kilometres, the equivalent of 2,600 square miles.

This year there are 110 eggs to be found to celebrate Peter Rabbit's 110th birthday. 2012 is also the centenary year of 'The Tale of Mr Tod'.  Each egg is a prize, but there are 10 BIG prizes to be won too. Once you have found the egg do please let The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction know and they'll let you know if you are a winner. One prize per family only.

Details about the location of the eggs will be available on the website after Peter Rabbit launches the egg hunt at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness.

The Great Peter Rabbit™ Easter Egg Hunt 2011 saw visitors flock to Cumbria to take part. The top prize winners were the Hull family from Knaresborough, North Yorkshire (pictured right) - Dad Andy, Mum Frances, son Gareth (15yrs), daughter Lizzie (13yrs) and daughter Ruth (9yrs). They discovered their egg on top of the cairn on Helvellyn when they were out on an early morning walk as part of their long Easter weekend break in the Lakes. Helvellyn is 950 metres above sea level and the third highest peak in both the Lake District and England.
