masons_arms31.jpgThe Masons Arms near Bowland Bridge and Cartmel Fell host a Reading Group on the first Wednesday of each month. The reading group is already proving popular with lots of lively debate and a great reading list.

The group meets at 10.30am for a chat about the featured novel, along with a nice cup of tea or coffee. New members are very welcome.

masons_arms_cheque.jpgThe Masons Arms 'Chip Inn' Initiative
 
The Masons Arms 'Chip Inn' initiative is a fundraising project that the Bowland Bridge inn is running to help promote youth sport in the Lake District. For every portion of chips that the Masons Arms sells, the inn donates 25p towards their fund and every three months a local children's sports group is awarded a donation.

So far the Masons Arms have donated around £500 and recipients have been Wattsfield United Football Club in Kendal and Crosthwaite Primary School. The Masons Arms are keen for people to suggest worthy groups to them.
