Description Music for a Summer Evening Concert Your Guide 2 Events in Hawkshead The 44th Hawkshead Music for a Summer Evening season at Hawkshead Parish Church of St.Michael & All Angels begins on July 5th, 2011. Free admission but a retiring collection for Christian Aid and other charities will be made. The 2010 series of concerts raised over £4000 for local charities. • Tuesday July 5th - The Ghyll Singers    • Saturday July 9th - Craven Accordion Orchestra (pictured right)    • Tuesday July 12th - Peter Brown (pianist)    • Tuesday July 19th - Simon Martindale (tenor) & Ken Forster (pianist)    • Tuesday July 26th - Flutes and Co.    • Tuesday August 2nd - Elaine and Sam Bracken (local folk duo)   • Tuesday August 9th - Lake District Summer Music Concert • Tuesday August 16th - Sian Allen (soprano with Julia Cobby on piano) - Songs by Richard Strauss and Debussy and Faure as well as many arias. • Tuesday August 23th - Stephen Walsh (clarinet) & Linda Walsh (piano) • Tuesday August 30th - Encore Opera Group (pictured right)   The 2011 series of concerts raised almost £4000 for local charities. Hawkshead Parish Church received £1000 for church maintenance; £500 went to CMS for Garry Ion; £400 was given to the following charities: Christian Aid, St.Mary's Hospice, Coniston Mountain Rescue Team, Cancer Research UK and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Keldwyth Award Society which helps local musicians received £100.
