Lake District Showroom

The furniture and gift show room is situated next to the workshops in Staveley and the workshop has a viewing gallery. Workshop tours are available by prior arrangement. Visitors are made very welcome to the showroom to view the specialist furniture, or even to watch your own furniture being made! Woodturning is a substantial part of the Peter Hall & Son Ltd, business, so the showroom displays woodturned boxes, delicate fine bowls, wine coaster sets and plenty of unusual gift ideas.

Furniture Restoration in the Lake District


The philosophy of Peter Hall & Son of Staveley is, wherever possible, to conserve furniture rather than simply restore it, in order to preserve its originality and integrity.

Furniture restorer John Griffiths, who has been with Peter Hall & Son Ltd of Staveley for 23 years, has recently been accredited from the Institute of Conservation. The institute is the lead voice for the conservation of cultural heritage in the UK.

John is 1 of only 15 accredited practitioners of furniture conservation in the whole of the UK.

Upholstery Services in the Lake District


Peter Hall & Son Ltd of Staveley, in the Lake District upholster a huge variety of new chairs and sofas but if you have a favourite piece of furniture that you wish to keep, they can also offer a re-upholstery service.

Their chairs and sofas are traditionally sprung using techniques from the 19th century, providing a longer lasting result as well as independent suspension and comfort.
