Description
The present church of St.Mary The Virgin in Kirkby Lonsdale dates from the 12th century Norman period and is a mixture of historical architecture due to various re-building programmes which ended in a major restoration that was carried out in 1866.

There are some fine features for visitors to see including beautiful wrought-iron gateways and inside there are many stained-glass windows, as well as carved oak furniture and a pulpit. The font originally stood in a 14th Century chapel at Killington, near Junction 37 on the M6 motorway.

The Team Vicar in the benefice of Kirkby Lonsdale team ministry is Rev. David Whitehead.
