The award-winning Ullswater Steamers offer great days out on Ullswater, "England’s most beautiful lake". Ullswater Steamers have been operating lake cruises for over 150 years, combining Lake District walks or special events including weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations, with spectacular cruises upon Ullswater.

The truly stunning and dramatic Lake District landscape of Ullswater has inspired artists and writers for hundreds of years. From the gentle rolling hills of the northern reach to the grandeur of the southern reach, where the foothills of Helvellyn rise from the shore.

Ullswater Steamers fleet features some historic vessels, including Lady of the Lake, which was launched in 1877 and believed to be the oldest working passenger vessel in the world. Also there's Raven, launched in 1889 and pictured above left plus Lady Wakefield, which was renamed by HRH Princess Alexandra in 2007. Then there's Western Belle and the Lady Dorothy (pictured right), originally a sea-going vessel who joined the Ullswater Steamers' fleet in 2001. More fleet details are here.

Events on Ullswater Steamers

The award-winning Ullswater Steamers hosts many special events that combine a cruise on what many regard as the most beautiful of the English lakes with fun and educational activities for all the family. These include Evening Commentary Cruises with an LDNP Ranger (more details here), RSPB Cruises identifying the rich variety of bird species and red deer on and around the lake, Easter Eggtastic Fun with Sammy Squirrel plus Photography Competitions.

Every September a special Tying the Knot Wedding Fayre takes place on-board Ullswater Steamers heritage vessels M.Y Raven and M.V Lady Wakefield. More details here. Then there's Halloween fun for all the family in October in Ghostly Galleon with Stu-di-Doo, a two hour cruise with one of the best entertainers in Cumbria. More details here.
