The Allegri Singers and Players perform two great masterpieces for small choir. Handel's 'Dixit Dominus' was written after he visited Italy and shows the young composer's mastery of extrovert Italian choral techniques. Faure's Requiem is a gentle meditation on the words of the funeral service, in an early version for choir and small orchestra.

The choir will also sing three settings of Gerald Manley Hopkins to music by choir director Owen Davies.
The concert is free with a retiring collection for church and choir.

Tickets £9.00 (including light refreshments) available from Iain Johnston (01539 822571), Christine Hevey (01539 821689) or Staveley Pharmacy and at the door.
