The Walk Across the Sands of Morecambe Bay in aid of the Boxes of Hope Cumbria Christmas Shoebox Appeal is a superb fun day out! Please take part in the walk and enable more gift-filled shoe boxes to be sent to the very deprived children of Eastern Europe this Christmas. More than 10,000 boxes are despatched from South Cumbria each year by the local charity. The walk is led by Cedric Robinson, Queen's Guide, and the distance is 5 - 8 miles depending on tides and route chosen by Cedric. All flat! Some wading required.

Boxes of Hope

Boxes of Hope Cumbria is a local charity that sends humanitarian aid directly to Eastern Europe, to help children who are living in abject poverty, through no fault of their own. Their main project is a shoebox campaign, sending thousands of brightly wrapped, gift-filled shoeboxes to bring a bit of magic into the lives of these children at Christmas. Over 100 volunteers are all working to ensure that gift-filled shoeboxes get to the most needy children you can ever imagine.

If you would like to take part in the walk, the organisers suggest a donation of £10 adult and £5 child. Well behaved dogs are welcome too.
