The Cartmel Show is held on the first Wednesday in August of each year. It's a traditional country show, held for more than 130 years, with its roots firmly within the agricultural community. The show provides plenty of family entertainment in the picturesque parkland setting of Cartmel Racecourse. Expect plenty of Livestock, Horses, Dog Show, Hound Trail, Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling, Birds of Prey, Carriage Driving, Show Jumping, Village Industries, 100+ Trade Stands, Show Ponies, Shepherds Crooks & Walking Stick Classes, Country Crafts, Food Hall and Demonstration Marquee.
Throughout the Cartmel Showfield there is plenty of entertainment with live music to get everyone in the mood for a great day out. For the children there will be a circus display team, children’s trail, school art & crafts and the adults can ride a bucking bronco! Livestock on show will include premier beef and dairy cattle and quality show sheep which will be judged in the busy livestock rings throughout the morning. Over 300 sheep usually compete for the coveted Best in Show at Cartmel.
Car parking is free but due to health and safety regulations, ringside parking is no longer available.
