Cross Bay Walk in Aid of the Galloways Society
Saturday 25th July 2015 to Sunday 26th July 2015
Join Galloways Society for the Blind and Queen's Appointed Guide Cedric Robinson for their 32nd sponsored walk across Morecambe Bay on Saturday 25th or Sunday 26th July 2015. Cedric Robinson has been leading walks across the Morecambe sands for fifty-two years and is renowned as having led thousands of people safely across the dangerous crossing.
The nine mile walk is one of the country's most popular and scenic. It starts from the picturesque promenade of Arnside and ends at Kents Bank near Grange. It takes around 3 hours to complete with panoramic views of the Lakeland hills and those of Lancashire and Yorkshire. The walk will raise funds to support Galloway's Society for the Blind's work with more than 7,000 blind and partially sighted people. Last year the two Morecambe Bay walks raised over £30,000.
Family, friends, children and dogs are all welcome. Places are limited and return transport is on offer from a number of pickups. For further information and to book places, contact Elly at Galloway's on 01772 744148 or email . Please state on which day you would prefer to walk. Or book online; Visit Facebook page.
