The Cumbria Drama Festival is the local preliminary round of the All England Theatre Festival, featuring five one-act plays performed in one day. The adjudicator is Bev Clark, GoDA with admission for Adults: £7 each session (£12 for both); OAP: £6  (£10) and Juniors £4 (£6). Tickets on the door, with refreshments available after each performance.

Afternoon Programme: 3.00pm - 6.00pm - Who Do You Think You Are by Ken Smyth: Cosgood Players (GOS); The Proposal by Anton Chekhov: CADS (Cockermouth);  A Little Box of Oblivion by Stephen Bean: GADS (Gosforth). Evening Programme: 7.00pm onwards: Blood on Canvas by Richard James: CATS (Cumbria); Being Norwegian by David Greig: CADS (Cockermouth). This is followed by the adjudication by Bev Clark. The winners of the preliminary round will go through to the semi-final at Saltburn Community Centre in May 2017.
