RNLI Morecambe Bay walkThe RNLI's Cross Bay Walk takes place on Sunday 12th June 2016 under the expert eye of Queen's Guide Cedric Robinson. The charity is inviting supporters to again undertake the crossing of Morecambe Bay to help raise money to save lives at sea.

The Cross Bay Walk will start from Arnside at 11:00am with the eight-mile route finishing at Kents Bank near Grange-over-Sands. The event is open to anyone over the age of 11 and dogs are also welcome. Registration fees are £10 per adult and £7 per child, which includes guidance from Cedric Robinson in his 53rd year of safely guiding walkers across the sands.

The historic route across the Bay has been used by walkers for thousands of years, with written records stemming from the middle ages. It is only possible to cross the sands with a guide, so this is a great opportunity for walkers to take on this unique challenge.

Spaces are limited so you are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. The charity is not asking supporters to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship, although they've suggested £42 as a target, as that's the cost of a pair of 'wellies' for one of their crew.
