'Grasmere Welcomes Christmas' is a special weekend of events, shopping and festivities in Grasmere in the Lake District that celebrates the start of the Christmas season with Santa's grotto & fairy grotto in Stock Lane, storytelling by Taffy Thomas in his garden and Sam Read's bookshop, clog dancing, carol singing, treasure trails, pomander making, face painting, open air brass band performances and choir concert. Businesses will be open for late night shopping on Saturday evening. Panto characters from this year's Cinderella production will also be welcoming guests in the centre of the village.

Parking will be free on both days at the Wordsworth Trust car park, with reduced all-day parking elsewhere costing £1.20 (SLDC) and £3.00 (LDNPA). Grasmere School's car park will be free on the Saturday and Sunday, although donations are encouraged.
