Kendal Jazz Club Gigs in Staveley
• Tuesday April 11th 2017 - The High Society Hotshots - The trad jazz band features past and present members of the High Society Jazz Band and three outstanding Scots musicians. Peter Boswell (trombone / cornet), Brian Gordon (bass) and Bruce Carnaffin (clarinet / bass clarinet) are joined by Mike Daly (trumpet), Kit Carey (banjo) and Bill Mullen (drums). Non-members £10.00.
• Tuesday May 9th 2017 - Enrico Tomasso - A regular at Kendal Jazz Club, Enrico's fine command of his instrument and stylistic invention place him among the finest jazz stars of today. With Enrico on trumpet will be Pete Major (piano), Dave Lee (clarinet, alto), Harrison Wood (bass) and John Hartley (drums). Non-members £10.00.
• Tuesday June 13th 2017 - The Classic Jazz - Liam Byrne, who was a guest with Harry Allen at KJC last November, returns to play more tenor sax and front an impressive lineup recreating the authentic sound of American jazz classics of the swing and bebop era. With Andrzej Baranek (piano),Tony Ormisher (guitar) and Frank Grime (acoustic bass). Non-members £10.00.
• Tuesday July 11th 2017 - Keith Nichols & Trevor Whiting - Pianist Keith is a legend of classic British Jazz, with a long career as multi-instrumentalist, arranger and band leader. His enviable technique ‘recalls the 20s & 30s masters.’ Trevor is one of the UK’s finest reedsmen. Non-members £10.00.

The Kendal Jazz Club meets on the second Tuesday of every month (formerly Wednesday) and endeavours to promote local musicians with special guest performances. Originally based at the Brewery Arts Centre, the Kendal Jazz Club's gigs programme has become increasingly adventurous. Membership is only £12 a year and includes a monthly newsletter. Every event for members only costs £8, whereas tickets for non-members cost between £10 - £12.
Kendal Jazz Club are based at Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley, which is well served by public transport with a regular 555 bus (till 11:45 to Kendal) and train service, as well as ample free car parking. It’s an acoustically tuned venue with excellent and reasonably priced Hawkshead Brewery Ales brewed on-site. Doors open at Staveley Brewery & Beer Hall at 7:30pm for 8:00pm start.
