If you're looking for something to do in the evenings, a speaker programme will be held at the lovely Theatre by the Lake on the shores of Derwentwater adjacent to the Festival Village. The range of talks include a one-off evening with James Cracknell, Olympic Gold Medallist and six time World Champion. In addition Alan Hinkes will discuss his fascinating adventures in the Himalayas, where he climbed all 14 of the peaks over 8000m, as portrayed in his book '8000 Metres: Climbing the World’s Highest Mountains'. Also Mick Fowler will talk about his latest Himalayan success, the first ascent of previously unclimbed Gave Ding (6,571m) via the spectacular north face. Monty Halls will discuss the great mysteries and hidden gems of our planet and renowned outdoor enthusiast Julia Bradbury will share some of her recent adventures and favourite walks, including one in Keswick.

The live music line-up includes Abba tribute act Björn Again, Scouting for Girls, Toploader, Liverpool funk band the Soul Rays, plus 7-piece 'gypsy folk 'n' roll band' Holy Moly and the Crackers. Also playing will be the Peatbog Fairies, Cumbrian folk musician Annemarie Quinn, folk rock duo Sound of the Sirens and Thingumabob and Thingumajigs.
