Sedbergh Gala and Fell Races 2016

The annual Sedbergh gala first began in 1964 and features a procession and crowning of the Gala Queen, Music, Fell Races, Tug of War, Fun Dog Show & Competition, Donkey Rides, Mini Motorbikes, Archery, Bouncy Castles, Westmorland and Cumberland Wrestling, Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting, Children's Sports, Artisans Market, Beer Tent and Refreshments.
The parade will assemble at Maryfell at 12:30pm and leave at 12:45pm, processing to Lupton Field. It will be led by Sedbergh Town Band and the Gala Queen with this year's theme 'Wild West in the Western Dales'. There will be a 'bucking bronco' to test your wild west riding skills and a circus workshop for youngsters. Proceeds from the Sedbergh Gala and the November bonfire celebrations are used to provide a children's party every January for all primary school children in the area and to assist local groups and individuals who need support for specific causes.
Tickets are £4 at the gate - Under 16s Free
Evening entertainment will take place on the Back Lane field of Sedbergh Wanderers from 7:30pm with Happy Hour until 9pm, with live music provided by Meander Covers. The 3-piece band from Manchester have been playing together for over 10 years and play a mixture of great rock and indie classics from the '60s right through to the present day.
