Following a successful launch last year, singer / songwriter and community musician Kirsten Taylor is hosting the second Yule Sing Hoad on Sunday 17th December 2017 from 2 - 3pm (arrive from 1.45pm). This event is a magical opportunity for the community to sing Yuletide songs inside the iconic Sir John Barrow Monument (also affectionately know as The Pepperpot) on top of Hoad Hill.

Yule Sing Hoad will be filled with soul-tingling seasonal songs that are timeless, fun and fabulous, set in the acoustically rich surroundings of the folly lighthouse. Whether you consider yourself a singer or not, you are welcome to join in. It's a public event open to anyone that has a fondness for a good walk on Hoad Hill with fantastic veiws and would like to be a part of this special musical gathering.

The main repertoire will be Christmas songs from the traditional Silent Night to White Christmas. With some fun and more unusual ones added for spice. A participant from last year's event said: "What an uplifting start to the festivities. We all left with a huge smile. Thank you so much for putting it on. Here’s to Yule Sing Hoad becoming a regular date on the calendar."

The event will run no matter what the weather - unless it comes with an extreme warning. So be prepared. Wrap up warm and don your big boots. After singing everyone will gather for a photograph outside the front of Hoad to mark the occasion. This event has limited spaces. Advance tickets are £8 and will be available to purchase from Ford Park Cafe, Ulverston which is open daily from 10am - 5pm and 7pm - 10pm on Bistro nights. Tel. 01229 581666.

Tickets will also be available from Kirsten at Songbirds singing sessions (Good Tones and Feel Good Singalong Allithwaite / Ulverston, Christmas Singing Sessions) and there may be a few available on the day (£10) but advance purchase is strongly recommended as this cannot be guaranteed due to space restrictions. For updates on Yule Sing Hoad view the Facebook page.

In the lead up to the event newcomers are always welcome to the regular singing groups based in Ulverston and Allithwaite that from December will feature some Christmas songs as well as other repertoire. These singing groups are open to the whole community. There is Good Tones on Monday nights and Feel Good Singalong on Thursday mornings at Ulverston Methodist Church and Feel Good Singalong Allithwaite at the Community Hall on Wednesday Mornings.
