World of Beatrix Potter Wins Double Award!
world_beatrix_potter_attraction_2011_logo.jpg The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction's garden in Bowness-on-Windermere has won two awards at the Cumbria in Bloom ceremony. The Peter Rabbit garden - which was designed by Richard Lucas - was awarded the South Lakeland in Bloom Tourism trophy. There was also a special Discretionary Award - a Wavy Grain wooden plaque made from Cumbrian Juniper - to acknowledge the gold medal success of the Peter Rabbit Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May. The Wheatsheaf is Named a Top Pub in England & Wales!

Beetham Nurseries Celebrate Three Decades in Business
beetham_nurseries_logo.jpgThis year Beetham Nurseries are celebrating thirty years in business. The family concern near Milnthorpe began in 1984 from a small potting shed and over three decades have blossomed into the huge garden centre, plant nursery, food shop and cafe that it is today. Although much has changed physically, the garden centre say their core intrinsic values and beliefs from 30 years ago that make up today's family business are still intact.
