Sunday Times Top 100 List Features Cumbrian Restaurants
  
simon_rogan_1.jpgSimon Rogan's L'Enclume in Cartmel is placed number 3 in the Sunday Times' best restaurant list, whilst Holbeck Ghyll in Windermere comes in at number 71. The Samling in Windermere also gets a mention in the prestigious restaurant roll call, appearing in the North West top 10. Rogan's reputation continues to rise as his other restaurants - Fera at London's Claridges and The French at The Midland Hotel, Manchester - also appear in the top 100. The two Michelin-starred L'Enclume is the flagship of the growing Rogan-led eateries, and earlier this year was named Restaurant of the Year in the Good Food Guide for the second successive year. World of Beatrix Potter Wins Double Award!
 
world_beatrix_potter_attraction_2011_logo.jpg The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction's garden in Bowness-on-Windermere has won two awards at the Cumbria in Bloom ceremony. The Peter Rabbit garden - which was designed by Richard Lucas - was awarded the South Lakeland in Bloom Tourism trophy. There was also a special Discretionary Award - a Wavy Grain wooden plaque made from Cumbrian Juniper - to acknowledge the gold medal success of the Peter Rabbit Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May. The Wheatsheaf is Named a Top Pub in England & Wales!
