Easter Events & Attractions in the Lake District 2011The Ultimate Guide 2 Easter 2011 in the Lake District Easter Events 2011 Directory | Events in the Lake District April 2011  There is much going on in the Lake District and Cumbria over the Easter holidays with plenty of events and attractions for all the family. With Spring well under way, the Lake District will look especially beautiful. Easter is late this year and if the daffodils are similarly late, like they were in 2010, there will hopefully be a gorgeous yellow bloom over the holiday period.From April 9th to 26th, Ullswater Steamers are having Easter Fun with Sammy the Squirrel on their regular cruises, which is supported by an exciting online competition. There's also a treasure hunt and squirrel activities taking place on the 18th and 19th of April in Glenridding.  Beginning on Thursday 21st April, the Lake District will host the North of England’s biggest Easter egg search in The Great Peter Rabbit Easter Egg Hunt. Children and adults can seek 100 ceramic Easter eggs over the Easter hols. Family fun days are also planned for Kendal Rugby Club and the Punch Bowl, Barrows Green. Throughout the holiday period there will be a range of activities courtesy of lakes leisure to keep the youngsters occupied. These include in Kendal Intensive Swimming lessons, Indoor Kayaking course, Stroke Improvement course, Junior Gymnastics sessions and a Family Sports Night. Meanwhile on Lake Windermere there are Easter Watersports, which include Splash Activity Days and The BIG Canoe Egg Hunt.
