The Church House Inn is just a short walk from Coniston Lake in the beautiful village of Torver, near Coniston, offering award-winning food and comfortable, en-suite accommodation. The 15th century Church House Inn is in the shadow of Coniston Old Man, one of the Lake District’s most stunning peaks. Located in the tranquil village of Torver, the Church House Inn offers a truly rustic retreat away from busy city life.
The historic Inn boasts a wealth of charm and still maintains many of its original features including low ceilings, wooden panelling, beams, slate floors and log burning fires.

The Church House Inn at Torver take pride in their quality, care and attention towards food and providing the best possible dining experience. Being based at the heart of the Lake District means the Church House has a genuine selection of top quality, fresh seasonal produce with all ingredients sourced as locally as possible.
Their Herdwick Lamb & Belted Galloway beef is reared, butchered and packed from Heritage Meats at Yew Tree Farm, Coniston, just ten minutes away. It’s full flavoured, fresh, lean meat used in the Church House's popular traditional dishes such as the 'Cumberland Tattie Hot Pot', 'Hoggit Pie', and Ribeye Steak and ‘best in town’ Sunday Roast.

Owner Michael Beaty arrived at The Church House in 2006 with a passion for excellent quality and good value cuisine. Michael is regarded as one of Cumbria’s most renowned chefs, having worked in some of the most prestigious restaurants both in the UK and in France and was once David Bowie's personal chef!
Everything is homemade from salad dressings, chutneys, sauces, pastries and baked breads to their own, Church House Oak Smoked Salmon and Church House Dry Cured local ham.
Light Lunches are served from 12noon – 3pm
Evening Meals are served from 6pm – 9pm

All their food is freshly prepared and locally sourced in the Lake District as far as possible with options for all dietary requirements available. Clean, well behaved dogs are welcome visitors to The Church House Inn, but they do ask that they don’t sleep on the beds.

The Church House are a Caravan Club member and offer hard standings, all with electric hook ups available.
