Description 9th Coniston Trail Race & Challenge Your Guide 2 Events in the Lake District   The Lakeland Trails Race in Coniston is a tough mountain trail and one of the most scenic races in this country. It has been rated the best running event in the UK by the readers of Runnersworld magazine. Skirting the Old Man of Coniston, the trail descends through ancient oak woodland and finishes alongside Coniston Water. A less competitive Challenge event sets off one hour before the more serious Trail Race, with both sets of participants following the same well marked and marshalled route. It's much more than a race, the Lakeland Trails in Coniston caters for all ages and abilities and features a club, friends and family day out with live music and entertainment, beer tent, food village, children's entertainments and retail stands. Every finisher receives a Lakeland Trails T shirt memento. The event is strictly limited to 1000 entrants.
