 The Lamplighter Dining Rooms is one of the top Windermere restaurants serving home cooked produce sourced from Lake District suppliers and specialising in fish and meat. Run by the Tasker family, the Lamplighter has a wonderful reputation for customer service and attention to detail combined with traditional values.
This Victorian Lakeland stone building also offers guest accommodation and is the perfect location from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. It's only two minutes walk from Windermere train station and offers private parking on site with free Wi-Fi access throughout the ground floor.
The Lamplighter Bar
The Lamplighter offers a wonderful variety of drinks to suit all tastes from premium lagers to an extensive wine
list. Guest real ales from Lake District breweries are also available. Staff
will also make cocktails on request to original recipes and only using
the finest ingredients. With the bar located within the hotel and in the
centre of Windermere village, why not leave your car and indulge! If travelling by train, the Lamplighter is the closest bar in Windermere to the main train station.

On cold winter evenings you can choose to dine in their cosy bar with a blazing fire or in their Victorian restaurant. The Lamplighter also features outside seating on their veranda or in the sunken terrace, should you wish to dine alfresco or just enjoy a refreshing drink. Both make excellent suntraps.
The Lamplighter have their own unique Sunday Lunch concept which is not to be found in other restaurants in Windermere and Cumbria. Recognising that the Sunday lunch is at the heart of British family life, the Lamplighter have produced a menu that offers the very best cuts of Lakeland meats that the area has to offer and serve this to you in the traditional style of the 'Great British Sunday Lunch – Family Style'.

 The Lamplighter Dining Rooms offers the very best accommodation in the Lake District with six Deluxe Double rooms and five Superior rooms. All of the Windermere hotel's guest rooms have recently been refurbished in sympathy with the Victorian heritage of this traditional Lakeland stone building, which dates back to 1865.
As a family-run hotel, the Lamplighter has a cosy and welcoming feel that sets it aside from many Lake District Hotels, with personal levels of customer service delivered in an unobtrusive manner. Only a short walk from Lake Windermere and 2 minutes from Windermere Station, the Lamplighter is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area.
