This year Mothering Sunday falls on 30th March 2014. It's known as Mother's Day in most other countries where it is celebrated either on the second Sunday in May or as part of International Women’s Day in March. For over 400 years, Mothering Sunday in the UK has been held on the fourth Sunday in Lent and has been an important day for giving thanks to our mothers. Flowers or a celebratory meal out are popular gifts for mothers but how about a beauty treatment? Most beauty salons offer vouchers so you could treat your mum to a relaxing session at one of the beauty salons featured on the site.
