The Punch Bowl in Crosthwaite have received the prestigious award of Cumbria Life's 'Dining Pub of the Year 2013'. The Lythe Valley gastro pub's head chef, Scott Fairweather, has also been awarded 'Cumbria Young Chef of the Year', which added to his award of the Essential Cuisine Young Chef of the Year gained in 2012. Their sister inn, The Plough at Lupton near Kirkby Lonsdale, also have good news to report. Following a recent AA inspection, their 5 black stars have been upgraded to 5 gold stars.
